There is good skiing in New Zealand At thea href=”http://www.snowfarmnz.com/” Snow Farm/a. My good friend is on his way there.  Wish I could go there and get some sleep and on snow training.   Back in the day it was easy to get a plane ticket to anywhere in the world and go skiing.  Now there a couple of limiters including work and family. Oh well must live vicariously through others and continue to substitute  rollerskiing. divHave just finished the 3 weeks of Whiteface and the first 3 weeks of intense ski training.  It went well have felt some interval improvement in fitness, strength, power and shooting.  Now have to race oops meant rest.  The hardest part about trying to train hard during my mid life crisis is recovery.  I mean I do not need any crazy supplements or drugs. All I need is some less stress and some SLEEP.  I can definitely function on less sleep then most.  What I miss most about training full time as the ability to take a nap each day.  Now I get to work 60-80 hours a week then somehow squeeze in aspan class=”Apple-style-span” style=”font-weight: bold; “ little/span training and family time.  /divdivNow the focus is to recover some this week then increase the shooting training tempo. SO far with shooting 2-4 sessions a week I have improved overall shooting time and consistency.   Will continue to get used to  suffering with  more intensity.  It is funny intensity is like a drug, Once you start doing it you want more and even need more.  Get back on the skatemill and amp up intensity.  At this point am of the belief that my aerobic potential has been over utilized or at least maximized and  now need to increase the skiing speed and power output. Especially if I  want to be competitive in the relatively short and less challenging races that Biathlon has to offer./divdiv Coming up there are the a href=”http://biathlon.teamusa.org/news/article/13426″Summer Biathlon  Running Nationals/a in Lake Placid July 8-10th, then there is  some  Biathlon Rollerski race in Vermont in August./divdivLast night did the Parish Hill course for the GVCC  Tuesday  A Club Race it was a fun race on a challenging course.  We are really lucky to have such a good series of club races. /divdivAnd a shout out to my Friends who will be suffering and cursing me when they  crest Wolfanger Hill /divdivDirections from Bristol: Go to the end of Canandaigua Lake take a left after the Famous Pie Place onto Parish take a left towards  Middlesex at the stop sign then go a couple of mile s take the first left go by the trailer park when the road forks take a right go down a couple of miles and it is a left turn going up./div/div/div/spandiv class=”blogger-post-footer”img width=’1′ height=’1′ src=’https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6647112093689702615-2378972207273496972?l=www.jackedupoldman.com’//div
