Bend Nordic Team Coast Trip

October 15th, 2009 · No Comments

Each year, Bend Nordic Team skiers travel to Newport, OR for a fall training camp coached by Ben Husaby and Brenna Knowles.  The trip itinerary is simple. Surf, eat, intervals, eat, surf, rest, repeat! This year the ocean waves were kind to new surfers and fresh, raw oysters were a perfect post workout treat.  The athletes enjoyed testing themselves at sea level. According to Dakota Blackhorse von Jess, “The roller-skiing at sea level was awesome because you can go as hard as you want without getting tired. It’s a great way to practice over speed at a high intensity level,”  Now, the team has started their countdown to West Yellowstone.
