BNS Launches Mountain Running Specialty Shop

New for the summer of 2013, BNS is excited to announce its entrance to the Mountain Running market with footwear, clothing and accessories from Dynafit, Pearl Izumi, Salomon, Ultrafit and 2XU.

“Alpine trail running is a passion shared by all of the BNS staff and we are thrilled to take on this under-served niche,” said owner Nathan Schultz. “Boulder and Colorado have incredible mountain running, and with the popularity of ultra-distance events growing exponentially, we feel there is a great opportunity to support the trail running community and build a small summer niche to complement our winter expertise in cross-country skiing and Alpine Touring.

BNS will host weekly fun runs Wednesdays at 5:30pm through September 25th, meeting at BNS headquarters at 3600 Arapahoe Ave in Boulder. The fun runs will be 60-90 minutes of easy trail running with the idea of building a fun social environment and exploring some of the great local running trails around Boulder.

Demo trail running shoes from Dynafit, Salomon and Pearl Izumi will be available on select nights with most runs ending with a social hour back at BNS with free food and beer.  BNS will also lead several “epic” trail runs throughout the summer to explore some of the longer alpine routes nearby. These runs will be on select Sundays through the summer and take between three and six hours. The schedule for the fun and epic runs is available at bouldernordic.com.
Also new for this summer, will be the addition of the BNS Mountain Running Team. The team will include athletes of all abilities with the intent of furthering a social community of active trail runners. The team will be at trail races around the Rocky Mountain West this season and nationwide in 2014. BNS Mountain Running Team program and application information will be available at bouldernordic.com in the coming weeks.
