Nat Herz is FasterSkier’s editor-at-large, doing some occasional writing and editing for the site.
Nat is currently studying at Columbia Journalism School in New York City, where he’s doing his best to find suitable alternatives to the mountains and backroads of his true home of New England. Generally, this involves somewhere between one and three Central Park laps per day, depending on whether he’s on foot, bike, or rollerski.
Nat hails from Hallowell, Maine, and after learning to ski at the Putney School in Vermont (Bill Koch’s alma mater), he competed for four years at Bowdoin College in Maine. His best finish was 47th one time at the Middlebury Carnival, and his worst was second-to-last.
Nat worked two years as FasterSkier’s Associate Editor from 2009 through 2011, and he plans to maintain his ties to the site through his year in New York City.
