The University of Maine at Presque Isle Seeks Men’s and Women’s Ski Coach

Half-time, temporary (6-month), exempt position

The University of Maine at Presque Isle is seeking to fill the position of Head Men’s and Women’s Ski Coach from mid-September 2015 through mid-March 2016. The head ski coach is responsible for the direction of the men’s and women’s skiing programs, adhering to NCAA rules and regulations and providing technical expertise to maximize performance of team members. The University of Maine-Presque Isle is located in Presque Isle, Maine, which sits in northern Aroostook County and is considered the hub of the county. The complete job description is linked here.

Competencies:
Knowledge of conditioning athletes for maximum performance in races.
Technical understanding of skiing technique to maximize performance in races.
Ability to teach and motivate collegiate athletes.
Understanding of NCAA rules and procedures.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree
Collegiate coaching, athletic recruiting and/or racing experience; or head coaching experience at the high school level
USSA, CCC, or NENSA Coaches certification

The salary range is $10,000-$12,000 and will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.
