Craftsbury Slush Cup, Saturday May 11

Hold off on that storage wax:  come to the Craftsbury Outdoor Center Saturday May 11th for one last afternoon of skiing. We are rolling out the last of the winter’s snowpile for some slushy springtime skiing. There isn’t much left – but there’s enough for bragging rights for having nordic skied in VT in mid-May. The afternoon will start at 1:00pm with 100 meter head to head sprints, followed by relay races. Post race, cool off with a dip in Big Hosmer, or hit our ski trails for running and hiking.

The day culminates with our first Local Dinner of the season starting at 7:00pm. The meal features a variety of dishes prepared by the Center’s Vermont Fresh Network dining hall team and composed almost exclusively of local ingredients. Several members of the local agricultural community will be joining us this evening as well, so you can learn more about the fresh ingredients used in the evening’s meal.

The skiing is free of charge, but registration for the 100meter sprints closes at 12:30pm. Dinner is $18 for Craftsbury Outdoor Center members and $21 for non-members – lower prices for kids. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the COC office at (802)-586-7767.

Join us this weekend and send the season off in style!
