The 27th Annual Yellowstone Rendezvous Race was run on a cold but beautiful day here in West Yellowstone, Montana. Close to 650 skiers raced on a day that started out with temperatures between 15 and 20 below zero. That meant crystal clear skies and gorgeous views from the top of Deja View but slow snow underfoot. Temperatures rose slowly over the course of the race but were never much higher than 20 degrees.

As for results, Patrick Weaver won the Men’s 50K with a time of 2:24:43 while Nikki Kimball won the Women’s 50K with a time of 2:53:26. In the Men’s 25K Nathan Park won with a time of 1:12:28 and in the Women’s 25K Crystal Ward won with a time of 1:26:01. Tim Downey won the Men’s 25 K Classic race with a time of 1:20:02 and Kelly Milligan won the Women’s 25 K Classic with at time of 1:29:31. We’d also like to say a huge “THANK YOU!” to the 80 volunteers that make the race possible. Finally, we’d like to thank Yellowstone National Park Lodges/Xanterra and the other generous sponsors and supporters that help make the event possible.
One more thing: The 28th Annual Yellowstone Rendezvous Race will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2007. That’s one week earlier than usual – mark your calendar and make your room reservations now!
