Snow Farm Skiing

The skiing here at the Snow Farm in New Zealand is good but not as good as it has been in years past.

The snow is thin and spring like. It is freezing and hardening at night, and softening as we ski in the morning. Today was a grey, overcast day.

This isn’t really a fair picture to put up because it’s the only section of trail that looks like this:

The skiers above are Canadian Devon Kershaw (leading), Canadian Alex Harvey, and my teammate Kris Freeman.

Yesterday afternoon we did a 90 minute skate, this morning we did a two hour skate, and this afternoon we are going to do a two hour classic. We’re starting with pretty basic training to recover from the travel and set ourselves up for a good camp for the entire time we’re here.
