Relay Day at Masters World Cup

It was a day of clouds, blowing snow and dropping temperature, it was a day of national pride.  In a day of relay competitions one country has to come out on top and today, once again, that was Russia.  Russia finished the day with 14 medals, the United States 12, Canada nine, Germany four, Italy two and France with one.
The relays often will provide the most exciting races and finishes and today was no exception.  In the Men’s 35-39 year old category Silver went to the United States by less than a tenth of a second over Germany.
Canadians skiers were once again well represented during the day of relay races at the Sparkling Hill Masters World Cup (SHMWC) at the Sovereign Lake Nordic Club. The Canadian contingent finished the day with a total of one gold medal in the F30 -34 category, four silver (M 40-44, 55-59, 75-79, F40-44) and four bronze (M45-49, 70-74, F35-39, 45-49).
