The U.S. Ski Team (USST) unveiled its 2014 Olympic uniforms for its nordic and nordic-combined teams on Saturday at the 2014 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping in Park City, Utah.
According a USSA press release, the uniforms were developed by the USST’s longtime provider Bj Sport’s Bjørn Dæhlie brand with design input from American athletes. With white stars and red stripes across a black backdrop, the suits are intended to emulate the American flag. The Olympic Winter Games kick off in just over a month February 7 in Sochi, Russia. Races start on Feb. 8.
“The Olympics are a special opportunity to represent your country and I wanted our suits to convey a real USA spirit,” USST member Kikkan Randall said in a press release. “I am really excited to be racing in the stars and stripes in Sochi. The American team looks to really be in the mix for the first time in 40 years and we want to be noticed!”
