My S-lab pro skate boots are giving me intense pain on my outside ankle bones of both feet.
The same boots were fantastic and functioned with no pain for the previous 1.5 seasons. I continue to use custom orthotics to stabilize my foot in my cycling and ski shoes. Working with a PT we have ruled out any issue with my peroneal tendons.
Has anyone experienced a similar situation with their S-lab pro skate boots? Potentially a breakdown in the padding around the ankle bone to increase pressure points? I welcome any suggestions on how to resolve this issue.
Yes! Interesting timing – as I’ve used these same boots for the last 2+ years before noticing the pain in one ankle this year. I try adjusting the lining by pulling on it and wearing different socks – but to no avail. I feel down in the area and there’s no obvious offender ‘sticking out’. Padding just must be thin in this area and the cuff/support are solid beneath. Last year I bought some Fisher boots (different binding & ski) and they’ve been great. Good luck!
