Ok so both a friend and I have cycled to an elite level in the UK, and I’ve done a fair amount of Alpine Touring in US, Norway and Iran.
We’ve set our selves the challenge of doing the Birkebeiner in Norway in March 2014 – so have 3 1/2 months to get it together – as neither of us has XC Skied before !
I’m a photographer and Paul is a writer so the whole caper will become a magazine feature.
We’ve had 3 days on snow instruction and will be having a couple of days roller ski coaching, followed by one more weekend on snow – probably in Feb. So most of the training will be on rollers ( We’re based in the UK in areas that get little snow).
