With anticipation for the first bit of racing in Europe and North America reaching a fever pitch, attention has turned to attire.

Specifically, the Canadian National Ski Team (CNST), and the digs they’re going to be sporting this winter.

When the Canadians inked a deal earlier this year with OneWay Sport, the nordic equipment manufacturer, the announcement raised some eyebrows. OneWay has a history of making some exciting suits, including the intense Slovenian neon, and the more questionable black-and-yellow French garb.

Friday, after a much-anticipated wait, FasterSkier received pictures and feedback on the suits courtesy of the entire team.

“I think OneWay did a good job,” wrote Devon Kershaw in an e-mail. “The important thing is that they feel good to train in. (The material they are made of is comfortable and moves well.)”

Kershaw did say that while the women were racing in the two-piece, most of the men wouldn’t be racing in that version. Instead, they’ll be using a one-piece, which may sport slightly different graphics.

While Kershaw was excited about the new gear, he added that the current near-tropical conditions in Europe haven’t given him a chance to test all of it.

“The rest of the gear seems really good too – although it’s been so damn warm out that we haven’t been able to use it a ton,” he said. “I mean, how many clothes do you need for skis in 10 degrees Celsius?!”

The Canadians have also spruced up their European vehicle fleet, adding some larger-than-life decals of World Cup Team members to the sides and back of the vans.
