FasterSkier Podcast: Alex Harvey’s Tour Tidbits

Devon Kershaw may have taken this season’s Tour de Ski by storm, but he wasn’t the only Canadian racking up strong finishes.

Kershaw’s 22-year-old teammate Alex Harvey also completed in the event, for the second time in his short career. And over the Tour’s eight stages, he collected four top-10’s on his way to tenth overall. To go along with Tuesday’s profile, we’ve also got him on the latest edition of the FasterSkier podcast.

As the Canadians began their journey back to North America, FasterSkier caught up with Harvey by phone. We broke down his performance at the Tour, and discussed his training plans for the run-in to Oslo—which include an appearance at the World U-23 Championships in Otepaa, Estonia, later this month.

We began by chatting about the Tour’s final race, the grind up the Alpe Cermis in Val di Fiemme.

In that stage, Harvey started in a small group of athletes fighting for third place, including Kershaw, Martin Jaks, Curdin Perl, Jean Marc Gaillard, and Roland Clara. They did their best to hold off Lukas Bauer, but couldn’t.
