Peoples Academy is searching for a head nordic skiing coach for their winter 2019-20 season. We are looking for committed individuals who will be able to coach nordic skiing in a fun, competitive, safe and sportsmanlike manner.

All coaches must be at least 18 years of age or a high school graduate at the commencement of the sport season for which the person has been appointed to coach. Candidates must also meet the certification and training requirements of the VPA, which requires certification in Sports First Aid and Fundamentals in Coaching within one year of hire. Acceptable certifications include ASEP (American Sport Education Program) certification or NFHS (National Federation of High Schools). For more information about certification, please visit www.asep.com or www.nfhs.org.

The VPA also requires coaches to complete the NFHS elective course entitled, “CONCUSSION IN SPORTS – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.” This is an online course that can be found at www.nfhslearn.com, and it is free of charge. All coaches must complete this 20 minute course before they can coach at the high school level in Vermont.

Interested candidates should contact Matt Ehrenreich, Athletic Director, at matthew.ehrenreich@lsuu.org or call 888-6706.
