Elena Burukhina (last winter’s Silver medal winner in the 30K at the Worlds), Natalia Korosteleva (who had a break-through year) and Evgenia Abruzova (captured a 5th place in Clusone) are all pregnant and not expected to participate this winter. The Bronze medal winner from Lathi Worlds pursuit, Vitalij Denisov has retired.
The gigantic oil company Rosneft which used to pour money into the Russian ski teams has pulled out.
