The men’s race:
Frode Estil (Norway) showed that he still has fast legs. A typical Estil-acceleration was decisive in Saturday’s 30 kilometer mass-start classic race in Estland. Anders Aukland came in second.

The women’s race:
Smigun was the favorite in Saturday’s World Cup 15 kilometer classic mass-start race but German; Claudia Kuenzel won in an exciting sprint for the medals.
Kuenzel was in the lead with 200 meters to go with Norwegian veteran Hilde Gjermundshaug Pedersen in second and Smigun in third. Smigun changed lanes (and boxed in Pedersen) and tried to challenge for the win but wasn’t able to catch Kuenzel. Smigun second and Pedersen third. Only thirteen seconds separated the top 15 skiers!
No Americans or Canadians in the race.
