Sprint is a hot topic for cross country skiing at the upcoming June FIS Congress in Miami, Florida according to Norwegian SkiSport magazine.
The big question is, according to former Olympic champion and FIS representative, Vegard Ulvang if sprint is going to count in the overall World Cup as it did last winter.
Norway wants cross country skiing to remain (long) distance friendly and at the same time remain as one “family” without making sprint into a separate sport with athletes that are strictly specializing for the sprint event.
 to sprint races makes it possible for the distance skiers to reach the podium as well.<br />
