Forget Early Breakfast. Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten reports that the start times for cross country World Cup and championship races will be later in the day. This will be in effect starting this season.

Biathlon races have for a long time been using an afternoon start and cross country is now following suit.

– I want us to compete later in the day. This will bring more spectators to the stadium, but even more important is reaching more TV viewers, says FIS competition director Jurg Capol to Aftenposten.

The earliest start time at the upcoming 2005 Worlds in Obersdorf, Germany will be 12:30 PM.
