Norwegian sprint team coach Ulf Morten Aune believes that all the Norwegian sprinters can win gold in this winter’s Oberstdorf, Worlds. Saturday is the World Cup opener in Düsseldorf.

Quality is in this case one sprint session and one hard strength workout, says Aune.
The race in Düsseldorf is skate sprint and Aune feels that, like last season, the Swedes will be tough to beat this winter. He believes that the Germans and the Russians can be tough in Düsseldorf if the conditions are tough/slow. Norway has on the other hand dominated the classic sprint and the sprint race at Worlds is this season for the first time ever in a championship classic. That makes for a very clear Norwegian goal.
– That’s to capture gold, says Aune, that on the other hand believes that other nations are focusing more on classic than in the past since Worlds is classic.
We have been best before and will try to stay ahead, says Aune.
Who will race for Norway at Worlds is a very open question.
– We have many good classic sprinters. It will be very hard to qualify for our team. Those who do can all take gold, says Aune.
