You know that Beckie Scott has become a big star when she can make headlines around the world for not doing anything.
The news that Beckie Scott has NOT retired received press in many countries over the past week. FasterSkier.com was the first to report that Beckie is indeed training hard and looking forward to the 2005 World Championships and the 2006 Olympics. The story was quickly picked up by the CBC in Canada, where it made national headlines. The story was also news in Norway and Germany. Apparently the rumors of Beckie's retirement were more widespread than we thought.
