Not Motivated

FasterSkier · October 2, 2004

World Cup skier Marit Roaldset (27) has lost the necessary desire and motivation to be a full-time cross country ski racer.

– Every fall went well, I set personal records in tests, but it didn’t transfer to better race results.

She was not sure about what to do regarding her ski career after last season. She decided to continue her studies and also took a job as assistant coach at the ski gymnasium in Lillehammer.  After a spring, summer and fall with this, she doubts that she will continue to strive for top results.

– I was uncertain, but it’s probably over. I enjoy the life I live now. I will race in the national championship, and I’m having a hard time saying that I’m not going to race anymore. Maybe the desire will return when the snow arrives?
