Three Biathlon skiers placed top five in the Norwegian opening weekend’s 10-kilometer skate race at Beitostolen last Sunday. They have all been selected to race for the Norwegian team in the skate World Cup race in Kuusamo, Finland in two weeks.
This was just confirmed by the Norwegian chief of cross country skiing, Bjornar Hakensmoen following biathlon skier Lars Berger’s first place, Ole Einar Bjorndalen’s second and Frode Andresen’s fifth place.
– Three biathlon skiers will race in Kuusamo, says Hakensmoen.
Norwegian tabloids are speculating that the same three biathlon skiers could capture three out of four spots for the individual skate races at the Worlds in Oberstdorf and capture spots (2) on the 4 x 10 kilometer relay team as well.
