Racing For Gold

FasterSkier · November 30, 2004

Hilde Gjermundshaug Pedersen (40) claims that this will be her last season as an elite ski racer. She is racing for gold at Worlds before she retires.

– The next Olympics is at altitude and requires long altitude preparations and I’m not up for that, says Hilde.

She still feels that all the time she has spent at camps with the younger skiers on the team has been positive.

– I feel that I still live in a young environment and that I have a young mind. That’s very positive for me, says Pedersen.

It’s regardless still over after this season. It would for that reason taste extra good if she could win gold at Worlds this winter.

– A gold at Worlds would be the icing on the cake. I need to work incredibly hard and focus on what I’m doing. To stay healthy is the biggest challenge. I need to at least believe that I can make it, says Pedersen.
