Marit Bjorgen was welcomed with a photo-blitz from a large number of journalists and photographers when she landed at the airport in Tallinn, Estonia on Thursday. She now wants to prove that she can handle the problem month of January as well.
She was surprised over all the hoopla and large press gathering at the airport, but she is the World’s hottest skier and on everyone’s radar screen.
She has had a fantastic start to the season and is leading the World Cup with 610 points, 270 more than Kristina Smigun in second place.
 Â

– Our plan this season is too start at a higher level when we are getting closer to Worlds, explains Bjorgen.Â
– Skipping the 15-kilometer in Ramsau before Christmas was an important part of that plan. I got home earlier, got to train on my own and made the foundation for the rest of the season, says Bjorgen
Â
– I’m at a higher level in both strength and endurance than last season. Everything has gone smooth this season, says Bjorgen
She is racing the World Cup 10-kilometer classic race Saturday and classic sprint on Sunday.
She is looking forward to the duel with hometown favorite Kristina Smigun.
-It gives me extra inspiration to race Smigun on her Home course in Otepaa
