Marit Bjorgen won her first ever Norwegian championship gold on Friday (Yes, that’s right). She is despite the victory happy that the sprint course at Worlds is tougher than what was used at Lillehammer.
Marit Bjorgen was never threatened and dominated the Norwegian classic sprint championship on Friday. 18-year old Astrid Jacobsen was the big surprise of the day and captured silver ahead of national team skier Ella Gjomle
 She is now considered the biggest ever Norwegian favorite to win gold at Worlds and is of course hearing about it constantly.
 – I’m constantly reminded about it, but I’m trying to not think too much about it. I am trying to think about the fact that it’s only a ski race. Everything needs to work out perfectly in a sprint race, and there are very small margins that separate. A small accident can ruin everything. I have had a very good season so far, way above my expectations. It’s only naturally that people have expectations to me, says Marit.
 She skipped Thursday’s 10-kilometer skate race in order to get one more day at home.
– I have trained well and feel that I can get to an even better shape and level than what I showed today, says Marit Bjorgen
