Bjorgen tested 40 times

World Cup leader Marit Bjorgen is possibly the most tested cross country skier this season reports Norwegian newspaper VG (www.vg.no).

Bjorgen has been tested 40 times in the past nine month and that might be more than any other cross country skier in the World.

It became know last week that French skier Vincent Vittoz has delivered a positive A-test for a banned substance called Furosemid.

– I’m of course hoping that those I compete against are not cheating. But I wouldn’t be surprised if someone got caught at Worlds. This isn’t a subject I’m spending a lot of energy on, says Marit Bjorgen.
Worlds start in 10 days.

– I had an unannounced controller visit this Christmas. It’s no problem getting tested. It’s a part of being an elite athlete. I have no problem accepting that this is important for the sport. But I hope that other nations are as serious in the fight against doping as Norway, says Bjorgen
