The 1st Annual Therapeutic Associates Youth XC Ski Festival and Cascade Crest Tour, presented by The Center, On The Way Bike & Ski Shop & Unicel, will take place March 18 — 20, 2005. The entire weekend will be filled with ski racing and ski related events for cross-country skiers of all ages and abilities.
The Therapeutic Associates Youth XC Ski Festival will include races, awards, raffle prizes and wax-clinics for skiers age 13 and under. There will also be a Nordic terrain park/ obstacle course, screaming downhill competition and a banquet on Saturday night.
Youth Festival entry fees are $55 until March 16 and $65 after March 16. Late registration will be Friday, March 18 from noon to 5 p.m. in the Fireside Room at Mt. Bachelor Village Resort, 19717 Mt. Bachelor Drive, 800-547-5204. No registration will be available after Friday. A coaches meeting is scheduled for 8 p.m. in the Fireside Room at Mt. Bachelor Village. Bib packet pick-up will be available Friday, March 18, 12 — 5 p.m. at Mt Bachelor Village Resort. Also, Saturday, March 19 and Sunday, March 20 from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. at the Mt. Bachelor Nordic Center parking lot.
The Cascade Crest Tour is Sunday, March 20 at 9 a.m. This is a 15km or 25km Freestyle race for Masters, Seniors and older juniors. The Cascade Crest course gives skiers a once a year opportunity to cruise through areas of the Deschutes National Forest that are not normally groomed. MBSEF is able to provide this event with a special use permit from the U.S. Forest Service.
