“Nordic racing needs this kind of excitement to grow, and Streetfighter definitely brings excitement to this sport!†exclaims Peter Juric, the International Nordic Race Director for Atomic. “Here in Europe, we have been watching the growth of Streetfighter and he has some coaches and athletes over here very frightened.â€
Peter is referring to the former University of Utah standout and current Team Atomic member, Zack Simons. He acquired the name “Streetfighter†with his win on the streets in Madison followed with his silver in the City of Lakes sprint in Minneapolis. Zack is the current points leader on the Super Tour Sprint circuit and he has become America’s most formidable threat for sprint competition. Streetfighter will be leaving for Europe shortly to compete against the world’s top sprint specialists.

Roger Knight, the Nordic Operations Manager for Swix, has been working extensively with Simons this winter. He had this to say about Zack, “Streetfighter is a new age athlete, he’s a pro, he is tough and he downright refuses to lose. As an athlete he is equal parts Cheetah and Cobra.â€</p>
<p>Sprints in downtown Metro areas have become the biggest draw in nordic racing. Europe has had races in Dusseldorf and Milan with another one scheduled this spring for Gothenberg, Sweden. Zack Simons is hoping he can continue his urban sprint success as he heads oversees.<br />
