Norwegian Karl Gunnar Skjonsfjell has decided to give up the life of an active Nordic racer.

Skjonsfjell hinted before the Vasaloppet that this would most likely be his last season and that he would love to end with a victory at the Vasa.

But with a disappointing 11th place (14 seconds behind the winner) this didn’t happen and with that the Norwegian had run out of motivation.

-I have made a decision and that is to retire as a ski racer, says Skjonsfjell.

Skjonsfjell will start a fulltime job with the clothing line NONAME and continue as a coach.

Karl Gunnar has on his record ten top ten finishes in the Norwegian Championships, a 6th place in a World Cup race and a victory in a FIS Marathon Cup event.
