The 26th Annual Yellowstone Rendezvous Race is less than two weeks away and race organizers are already busy marking the course and making final preparations for the March 12, 2005 event. If you have been to West Yellowstone in the last few weeks then you know that the Rendezvous Ski Trails are in outstanding condition. The weather forecast for West calls for continued cool temperatures with a chance of snow on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week — all good news for Rendezvous Race participants.
If you are still looking for a place to stay over Rendezvous Race weekend, here’s an update on lodging options:
Option #1: Call the Crosswinds at 406-646-9557. They are holding 20 rooms for Rendezvous Race participants.
Option #2: Call the West Yellowstone Chamber of Commerce at 406-646-7701. The staff at the Chamber of Commerce is compiling a list of local residents that are interested in opening their homes to Rendezvous Race participants. When you call the Chamber, the staff will do its best to put you in touch with a local resident that is offering space that will accommodate your needs. From that point on, it's up to you and the property owner to work out the details of your stay. If there is nothing available that fits your needs at the time you call, your name and contact information will be added to a waiting list and you will be contacted if something becomes available.
Option #3: Call one of the regional properties listed below. All of them have rooms available as of February 27, 2005 and all of them are within a 45 minute drive of West Yellowstone. Here's the list:
