Aukland Racing This Weekend, Looking Forward To Starting Up Again May 1

He has never won the race and doesn’t believe in victory this year either.

– My best result here is a third or fourth. The competition is very tough this year and skating isn’t my strongest side. Biathlon skiers Frode Andresen and Lars Berger as well as Kristen Skjeldal should be fighting for the top spot. But it’s nice to have a race like this at the end of April. It will be a nice trip over the mountain if the weather cooperates, says Aukland.

He is now completely healthy after having struggled through the season with health problems.

– I can’t feel the virus that bothered me anymore. So I’m healthy. I’m not in great shape. April is normally an easy training month, before we start up with full schedule on May 1. I‘m looking forward to starting up with again with normal training. I want to ski many races this season. I trained a lot last season, but didn’t get to race enough, says Aukland.
