The Italian long distance specialist Gianantoni Zanetel is retiring from elite level racing.
Zanetel has been one of the Worlds best marathon cross country skiers the last several years and has according to Skitime.it decided to end his active career as an elite level racer.
Zanetel has been on the podium in FIS marathon cup races five years in a row including the Marcialonga and Engadin ski marathons. In Norway he is known as the winner of 2004 Norwegian Birkie and in the US as the winner of the 2003 and 2004 American Birkie.
