A few days ago it was decided that the privately funded Norwegian long distance team would continue to exist. The former national team skier and coach, Pal Gunnar Mikkelsplass is now hired as the team’s coach.
– Long-distance is interesting and fun, and it is nice if I can contribute and be of any help, says Mikkelsplass.
He will take part in occasional workouts and stop by at camps to give advice and suggestions.
– It won’t be a lot, but I will be someone the athletes can talk to and get advice on training and technique from, says Mikkelsplass who will also participate at some of the regular national team camps in order to take some of the burden off men’s head coach Krister Soregard.
