Most people visiting park City, Utah in the summer do the Alpine slide, walk Main Street, shop at the Factory Outlets and so on. That wasn’t the case with top junior skier Glen Randall from Colbrann, Colorado and former Olympian and Hanover, New Hampshire resident Dorcas Wonsavage when they visited last week. Both wanted to run the famous Agony Hill time-trial in Salt Lake City. TorbjornSport and National Sport Foundation’s cross country and Nordic combined coach Gordon Lange organized a race for the two out-of town skiers and a few of his juniors.
For background about the time-trial see 2004 FasterSkier story:
Junior Skiers Arritola And Randall With Impressive Times Up Agony Hill http://www.fasterskier.com/racing1232.html
Glen Randall was the fastest junior up Agony Hill last year in 14.49 and improved that to 14.34 this year, a time we believe is the second fastest ever by a junior.
The fastest female time in many years was logged last year by junior skier Morgan Arritola from Sun Valley in 16.55. Dorcas Wonsavage ran an impressive 17.51 last week. This was only about 1 minute and 25 seconds behind her own PR from when she was a national team skier.
Very impressive, the big question is now if Dorcas is planning a come-back and is secretly aiming for a spot on the 2006 Olympic team?
We are frequently seeing her name on top of the results list in East coast races and she even came out and did the Spring series last winter
