Where can you gain the most compared to World’s best skiers?
– They are a few steps ahead of me. I need to train a few more years in order to get more experience with training. I don’t know my body well enough yet.
Skating has until now been Northug’s strength, but he has also put in solid work in the classic style.
– The camp was valuable, especially regarding technique and technique-feedback.
Petter is still at Sognefjellet since the junior national team’s camp started right after the elite team’s camp ended. He has now skied daily for almost two weeks.
– I feel good on my skis already, but am starting to be a little bored.
The training has so far gone according to the plan for the talented junior. He has not been lazy this spring. He trained a lot more in May this year compared to May last year and has so far trained more in June than he did in June last year.
– I have decided to train a lot this summer.
How are you training?
– I’m doing blocks with hard training, like a mini version of what Svein Tore Samdal is doing with the Norwegian women’s team. That worked well last year. I’m doing traditional training in between the blocks, says Samdal who is planning 750 training hours this season.
