ROLLERSKI: ANOTHER EXCITING COMPETITION IN THE CROATIAN WORLD CUP
Oroslavje (Croatia) 21st August 2005 — In the last race of the Croatian rollerskiing World Cup in Oroslavjie, the today sprint on 150 meters, podium for the Bogatec family. In the men race victory for David Bogatec / ITA on the world champion Igor Glushkov / RUS and third position for the Igor Cuny / FRA. The Croatian Adrijana Stipančić is the winner of woman competition, before the sister of the fastest man, Mateja Bogatec / ITA, finish second place, and third place another Italian racer, Anna Rosa.
In the pursuit of yesterday, victory for the Italian Alfio Di Gregorio with the teammate Michel Rainer and Valerio Theodule on the other two steps of podium. Fourth position for Vladimir Fedoulov / Rus before the Italian Jules Pession. In the female race, success for the zarina Valentina Kislukhina / Rus with an advantage on the WC 2002, Viviana Druidi / ITA and third place for Erika Bettineschi / ITA. Again Italy on the next two position: Mateja Bogatec and Laura LEONI
In the junior races, the fourth success in this season for the Turkey Muhammed Kizilarslan. Second place fo Desmond Verboort / NED and third step of the podium for Glauco Pizzutto / ITA. In the “pink†competition, return of the first place Germany with Theres WOLF who beats Nathalie Rissena / NED and Marina Kovačec / HR.
The World Cup standing after six races the russian Igor Glushkov is the leader with 492 points, but at his back he has the whole Italian team: Alfio Di Gregorio (332), David Bogatec (283), Simone Paredi (240), Michel Rainer (231), Jules Pession (224). In the women ranking the first six positions are divided by Italy and Russia. Mateja Bogatec is leading with 416 points on two russian Marina Firsova (331) and Elena Vedeneeva (320); then Viviana Druidi (305), Elena Rodina (260) and Anna Rosa (199).
Next appointment for the Rollerski World Cup 2005 is in the first weekend of September in Geyer (Germany) for a pursuit and sprint races: the last check before the FIS Rollerski World Championships in La Tramblade (France) 8th/11th September.
