He is putting some of the blame on the fact that this was the first race of the season.
– The first race is always a little special. To ski competitions in heats with others. That made me a little unbalanced, says Kjolstad.
That was forgotten on Sunday. In his luggage was now his second sprint victory of his carrier. The first one was the individual sprint in Nove Mesto.
Trying to make the Olympic team
Kjolstad believes that he can ski even better in upcoming races.
– I was despite skiing technically better today not feeling that my legs had any extreme snap/power. We didn’t have an optimal preparation for these races, and we are not supposed to be in top shape yet. My big goal of the season is to qualify for the Olympics in February, say Kjolstad from the airport in Copenhagen
