Lars Berger: – My Best Ever Cross Country Race

– I need a few days to get in top shape after being sick, admits Berger and is hoping that time at altitude will help him.
It looks like the 15-kilometer World Cup race in Nove Mesto on New Year’s weekend will be Berger’s only cross country race before the Olympics.

– Can you qualify for the Olympics by only racing one cross country World Cup race?

– It depends on where I place on the result list, says Berger.

He was sick and not able to race the third leg on the Norwegian 4 x 10 relay team at Beitostolen recently and won’t do the January 30-kilometer World Cup in Val di Fiemme, a major Norwegian Olympic team selection race.

You won’t race the Val di Fiemme 30-kilometer or the relay in the middle of January?

– At the moment that’s correct, says Berger.
