Long-distance World Cup Opener: Paluselli Women’s Winner – Tie For First In The Men’s Race

Long-distance World Cup opener, La Sqambeda, Livigno, Italy 45-kilometer freestyle on Saturday:

Men’s podium:
Tough racing to the finish and dead tie between Italian skiers Biago Di Santo and Tullio Grandellis for first with Teemu Kattilakoski of Finland only 0.2 seconds behind in third. Estonian World Cup skiers Jaak Mae and Andrus Vererpalu placed 18th and 23rd.

Women’s podium:
The women’s race was won by Italian Christina Paluselli, 1.4 seconds ahead Lara Peyrot and Ana Santer also of Italy were second and third 1.4 and 10 seconds behind.
