Eldar Ronning left out: 6th place in the Vernon freestyle sprint and skiing the anchor leg on Norway’s winning team in the Canmore World Cup classic sprint relay not enough to make the team.

The Norwegian Ski Federation has selected the following skiers to race the freestyle sprint at the 2006 Olympics in Turin (Pragelato):

Tor Arne Hetland, Johann Kjœlstad, Trond Iversen and Ola Vigen Hattestad

There was not found room for Eldar Ronning. Ulf Morten Aune, the sprint coach says that Ronning skied a good sprint in Canada (6th place), but didn’t prove that he should be on the team in Nove Mesto on January 30.

– I believe that the four we have selected have a higher topspeed than Eldar Ronning. He might however get a chance to race other races than the sprint, says Aune.
