Wendy Wagner took command of today's women's 20K pursuit race at Soldier Hollow early on, and won convincingly. Wendy built a lead in the classic leg, and was skiing by herself most of the way. A chase group of Lindsey Weier, Kristina Strandberg, and Abigail Larson fought for places two through four. The chase group did gain on Wagner in the latter parts of the skate leg, but Wagner already had the race in hand and the others were fighting for second. Weier took second with a strong finish. Strandberg was third, and Larson fourth. A number of prior winners this week, including Kikkan Randall, Rebecca Dussault, and Liz Stephen, did not race.
