Fischer introduces the lightest racing ski in the world, the RCS Carbonlite. Available in both Skating and Classic models, the new Carbonlite weighs in under 1000 grams (187L/SK and 197L/ CL) and was developed with feedback with finest racers in the world. The ski was first utilized at the 2005 World Championships in Obersdorft Germany with great success — capturing a Gold medal in the 50k Classic.

Beyond being just ‘light’, the ski is designed to be light in the right places. One of Fischer’s original design goals was to reduce the critical swingweight. This was accomplished by using Fischer’s new multi-axial T3001K carbon fiber in the tip and tail. In addition, a new core design (AirCore Carbonlite) was developed for this new model. The wood sidewalls of the ski have been reduced and replaced with AirCore laminates to achieve the following benefits; dropping the overall weight of the core, and increasing torsional rigidity of the ski up to 20% while still retaining the same smooth longitudinal flex. Durability and strength are maintained as expected from Fischer’s top racing products.
