In today's freestyle sprint in Borlange, Sweden, it was a double-bronze day for Canada. With Devon Kershaw posting by far the best result of his young career in third, fellow Canadian Sara Renner equalled her best individual sprint result this season by likewise making it all the way to the A-Final and finishing third. Renner finished ahead of last year's World Sprint Champion Emelie Oehrstig of Sweden, with Italian Arianna Follis taking the win and overall World Cup leader Marit Bjoergen getting second.
NORTH AMERICAN WOMEN PACK THE TOP 10
FasterSkier · March 6, 2006
As if all this weren't enough for North American fans to go nuts over, the day was brightened even further by Chandra Crawford's 8th place and Beckie Scott's 10th. We're not sure yet if this is a record or not, but four North American women in the top 10 in a World Cup is quite an impressive achievement to say the least. A hearty congratulations to these athletes, as well as their teammates, coaches, families, sponsors, and communities who support them.
