Former Olympic and World champion, Norwegian Thomas “Sideways†Alsgaard and his wife Ronnaug are moving to France this fall in order to pursue Thomas newfound interest in wine.

Alsgaard was, following the Norwegian head coach’s resignation last week, asked by the Norwegian team if he was interested in working with them, but he has chosen to continue to work in a limited role with the Swedish team. A limited role that makes it possible for Thomas to move to France in order to “study†wine. Thomas and Ronnaug are planning to stay in France for at least one year.
– Thomas has lifted the team’s wine choice level many notches. The price level per bottle has increased significantly after he started working with the team, says Swedish national team coach Inge Braten.
