Maine Winter Sports Center XC Race Program
Maine Winter Sports Center (MWSC) offers support to talented, dedicated XC skiers who are looking for a place to live the skiing lifestyle while taking their performance to the next level. MWSC is home to two World-Class venues, has a staff of 5 coaches, and the resources to support elite athletes. This is a great post-collegiate option for athletes looking for a place to live and train in a supportive Nordic environment.
The Maine Winter Sports Center’s mission is to re-establish skiing as a lifestyle in Maine, leverage that lifestyle to create a new economic model for rural, isolated communities of Maine, and further leverage that lifestyle to create opportunity for the youth of Maine.
MWSC will support nearly every request in some way to make athletes’ residency in Northern Maine a reality for today’s most committed XC skiers. MWSC is consulting with the US Ski Team to develop a world class development program, details TBA.
MWSC XC athletes can expect the following support:
v Year-round coaching & training camps from a TEAM of 5 coaches

v Health insurance coverage for selected athletes
v Job opportunities (that fit your training schedule)
v Training at our world class venues with lighted roller-ski loops, FIS homologated ski courses, and IMBA designed MTB trails
v Hundreds of miles of roller-ski friendly roads, and running/hiking/MTB trails
v Medical Services/Physical Testing/ Physical Therapy/Blood & Lactate Testing
v Strength Training facilities access across the County
v Support for travel/housing/race entries at Supertour/US Nationals/and other top races
