Norwegian Men’s Coach Quits

– I’m sorry that Sorgaard quit, but can understand his choice, says new chief of sport Age Skinstad.
He will start looking for a replacement immediately.

Shocked everyone

Sorgaard had the confidence of the team, but then got an offer he couldn’t resist.

Coaches and skiers had earlier this month met and evaluated the season. They had put the disappointment of the Olympics behind them and it was no doubt that Sorgaard was going to continue as the men’s coach.

Surprised skiers

– I was told a couple days ago, and it was very surprising, and I’m disappointed. At the same time I support him, he had to make a choice, says Anders Aukland.

– Too bad, I have been very happy with Krister’s work, says Tore Ruud Hofstad.
Sorgaard has been his coach for five years.

– There is no doubt that Sorgaard had confidence and was going to continue, says Age Skinstad.

– Krister had a very tough season and the pressure on him was enormous. I’m impressed by the way he handled it. That’s not the reason why he made this choice, says Aukland.
