The Nordic Ski Club Fairbanks has inaugurated a year round training
program for juniors with the hiring of Peter Leonard as Head Coach of
Fairbanks Cross Country (FXC). Pete has been with the New York Ski
Educational Foundation in Lake Placid as assistant cross country coach
for the past two years. In 2006 he coached the Mid-Atlantic Junior
National Team as well as the New York Eastern High School Championship
team. He began racing in high school (Wayland, MA) and earned varsity
honors in skiing each of his four years at Williams College where was
named to the 2004 Academic All America team. His love of the sport drew
him to coaching after college, and at NYSEF he worked with all age
groups, but especially with juniors. Pete will arrive in late June and
begin immediately to work with our promising junior racers.
