Personal Coach: Chris Grover

What do you think about racing in the Sapporo Dome?

Sapporo is the focus of this season and as for the dome goes, if it’s got
some snow in it, lets race it.

Summer Training? Anything new over last year?

Summer Training seems to be going well. Not to many changes for last
year. Added in a few more sprint specific workouts, fine tuned the
strength workouts, and bumped up the hours.

Chris you had a great past season, why the improvement?

I think it just finally all came together. After a couple of frustrating
years, I went back to ground zero, and hit the books. Went back over the
past 4 years of training, took out everything that worked and dropped
anything that didn't. With the help of Grover, we put together a training
program that both of us had a 100 percent confidence in, and with
confidence in your training comes confidence in your racing.

What's it like working with Grover?

Chris Grover is an exceptional coach. Having worked with several of the US skiers as juniors and now as seniors, he is really in tune with the athlete’s individual training needs and areas that need improvement. Also his enthusiasm and desire to succeed are equally to the athletes,
form a true team atmosphere.

Words of wisdom for the masters?
