Jens Arne Svartedal won the classic sprint in the Norwegian opening week at Beitostœlen on Friday. Svartedal won the men’s race ahead of Eldar Rœnning and Øystein “The Sausage” Pettersen.

 Kristian Horntvedt was third, 38 seconds out.</p>
<p>Best national team skier was Tore Ruud Hofstad in fourth place, 45 seconds behind Bjorndalen. Biathlon skier, Frode Andresen was fifth, 48 seconds out. Northug did better his finish from Friday, but not by much. He finished 14th.</p>

Jens Arne Svartedal won the third and final race in the Norwegian opening week on Sunday. The event was 15 kilometer classic. Svartedal also won Friday’s classic sprint race and was 19th in Saturday’s 10-k skate race.
Odd-Bjœrn Hjelmeset was second, 21 seconds behind and Geir Ludvig Aasen Ouren was third, 23 seconds out. Anders Aukland was fourth and Frode Estil fifth.
